The area of Murcia sits on the south east corner of Spain, with Costa Blanca to the North and Costa Almeria to the South. It boasts white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, deserted coves and 320 days of sunshine a year.
The World health authority has declared the Murcia province the cleanest in Spain,with the least industrial pollution. For nature lovers, there is the stunning Sierra Espuna national Park and the sierra de Carroscoy mountain range – a paradise for walkers and climbers.
If you are a sports enthusiast you have the famous La Manga club. The area is a haven for golf enthusiasts with more than 15 courses within an hour from the Hacienda Resort. The Jack Nicklaus trail quickly becoming a must play on a golfers itinery
Or take a dip in the renounwned Mar Menor, the largest salt water lagoon, offering sailing, windsurfing or jet skiing. The water is wonderfully shallow and is so warm you can swim all year round. The health giving and healing properties of its high iodine concentration are believed to have great curative properties for rheumatism and arthritis

For city life you are spoilt for choice.Murcia the capital,offers a great flavour of the regions culture with its wealth of museums,monuments and sumptuous cathedral. Catagena,the second largest city and naval port,has a heritage to rival that of any European city as it was the last Moorish stronghold in Spain.

The Hacienda Riquelme  golf resort ideally situated just 15 minutes from Murcia Airport and within 30 minutes of the major attractions of the area. The resort is is set in a beautiful and tranquil valley surrounded by farms growing local produce.

Murcia

Murcia is the largest town in the area, with excellent shops and many historical buildings, it is situated 20 minutes away.

Cartagena

The historic port of Cartagena is well worth a visit, with wide promenade, shops and marina.

La Manga

The famous La Manga golf resort is approx 30 mins from the apartment.

Los Alcazares

Beaches with promenade that practically stretch all the way to San Javier.

Cabo de Palos

 A small fishing village with lovely walks around the point.

Markets

Nearest Beach

The nearest beaches can be found at  Playa de Santiago de la Ribera  and also at Los Alcazares some 15 minutes from the golf resort. The Mar Menor has excellent beaches with a very safe bathing.

Nearest Supermarket

A supermarket is available on the resort
A Spanish supermarket can be found in Sucina (1.5km) opposite the petrol station
A small English supermarket can be found in Sucina in the town square. English newspapers are sold here.
In Sucina you will also find banks, a butcher, hardware store and pharmacist.
The largest supermarket (Eroski) can be found 15 minutes away at  the Dos Mares shopping centre.

A small number of restaurants can be found in Sucina 5 minutes away
An excellent  selection of restaurants can be found in San Javier and Los Alcazares. Details of local restaurants are found in the apartment.  Restaurants are also found at Mar Menor, El Valle and La Torre Golf Resorts, owned by Polaris World. A free shuttle service is available to these golf resorts
